Alcyon "Alli" Smalls, GCDF, CCSP, MA HUS
Parent Coach, Professional Trainer, Career & Personal Development Specialist
Alcyon "Alli" Smalls is an entrepreneur, author, parent coach, professional trainer, and career and personal development specialist. She is the owner of The Garden SC, LLC and the author of Parenting with Pleasure (2011, Soar Publishing). Alli earned her Masters degree from Liberty University in Human Services Counseling, her Bachelors degree from Post University in Human Services Counseling, and an Associates degree from Midlands Technical College in Public Service.
Parent Coach & Workshop Facilitator
For over a decade, Alli has conducted countless workshops that have helped strengthen relationships between parents and their children. With her interactive and engaging style, Alli creates a safe, healthy, and easy atmosphere for parents to learn and grow. Alli is a certified trainer in the TFTC (Together Facing the Challenge) and CARE (Children And Residential Experiences). She has developed The Garden parent empowerment program through her vast knowledge as a parent, a human services professional, and educator in the public education system.
Professional Trainer
As a skilled and certified trainer, Alli provides professional training in several evidence-based models including NCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention). Alli has developed individualized trainings in many areas including but not limited to cultural diversity, confidentiality, ethics and professional conduct. She is an adjunct Human Services teacher at Midlands Technical College. She trains and coaches staff in service delivery of evidence-based models with fidelity.
Career & Personal Development Specialist
Alli has a proven track record of successfully guiding youth toward personal and professional success. She is an award winning career and personal development specialist having earned the 2015 Career Specialist of the Year award for the State of South Carolina and the Midlands of South Carolina. She is humbled and honored to have earned both Career Specialist of the Year awards in the same year. In addition, she is the 2011 recipient of Hot Mommas Project, a global mentoring award winner through the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence. Alli is certified GCDF (Global Career Development Facilitator) and certified CSP (Certified Career Services Provider).
