Personal & Professional Development for Parents: The New Paradigm in Parenting

A new paradigm of professional parenting is changing how parents and children interact.

Anyone who has ever had the responsibility of caring for a child, even if you aren't a parent, quickly realized that parenting is a big job. It requires as many skills as an employee for any company magnified to an exponential degree! We are dealing with an entirely new generation of youth which has created a new paradigm in parenting. In The Garden, we take parenting very seriously. These are a few of the reasons we offer Personal & Professional Development (PPD) for the parents.

To effectively parent or care for a young person, one must be skilled at communication, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, discipline, mediation, problem-solving, team work, time management, and the list goes on and on. In fact, the SC Career Information System (SCOIS) lists the following as skills and abilities needed for School Counselors: the ability to communicate (written and verbal), the ability to reason and problem solve, the ability to manage oneself, people, time and things, and the ability to work with other people. These are just a few of the skills that parents need to master to rear healthy well-balanced children.

In The Garden, we recognize that parenting is an important job and we're here to help parents and caregivers enhance the skills they need to rear children who are healthy and well-balanced to develop into successful productive adults. PPD for Parents takes the guess work out of parenting. PPD workshops provide professional development for parents on communication, critical thinking, creating a peaceful home, effective discipline, managing stress, resource management, transition, and other more.

Contact us today and take a "stroll" through The Garden to see how you can begin your PPD for Parents to be on the cutting edge of the new paradigm in professional parenting.
