Career & Personal Development for Youth: Having Information Is Not Enough

Although we live in a digital world with unlimited information at our fingertips, having information just isn't enough.

Millennials...Post-Millennials...Gen Z...no matter what generation today's youth are defined by, they all need the same thing: 21st century skills training. Our youth believe that information is knowledge. Sadly, they couldn't be further from the truth. This is a battle parents, educators, and community members all face when dealing with youth in today's society. Young people believe they know everything they need to know, or at least can find on the internet.

The What Works in Soft Skills Development for Youth Employment report, Clara Ignatowski reveals "For young people to successfully contribute to the growth of emerging economies, their skills need to be adaptable to both the changing nature of work and the various opportunities that become available to them." Twenty-first century skills training is essential to the success of every young person...but so many of them are lacking these essential skills as they transition into adulthood. Providing today's youth with Career and Professional Development (CPD) training enables them to have less transition anxiety and greater success entering the adult world.

CPD for Youth workshops include 21st century skills training in the areas of: effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking, intrinsic motivation, responsibility, self-management, time management, taking the initiative, team work, and more. In addition to the 21st century skills training, youth will how to prepare for college and career, how to network and connect with the business community, resume writing, how to create extended learning opportunities for themselves, how to choose a college major, scholarship searches, and more.

Contact us today and take a "stroll" through The Garden to find out how CPD for Youth can prepare youth to be 21st century skills, college, and career ready.
